International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI) has revealed a plan to invest $100m for the second phase expansion of its Matadi Gateway Terminal (MGT) in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

African countries need large and efficient modern ports if they are to grow their economies, says a report, as the Democratic Republic of the Congo announces plans for a new development.

While the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is resource-rich, with huge deposits of diamonds, gold, copper, cobalt, and oil, it has, until recently, relied on its neighbours to access international markets and profit from its mineral wealth.
